However all seo efforts will not have gone to waste, as when the website emerges from the Sandbox period, it will have all the seo work read by Google’s algorithm and should rank in a better position, than if no seo was carried out.

Google’s algorithm is what reads the ranking signals that your website has, for example there are thought to be over 200+ ranking signals, so Google will read these, and if your website has stronger ranking signals than the competition, then you will move up the ranking positions.
